for membersI want do join. Where do I go?
Go to the News area and under Teamspeak find the topic Welcome Players! There you can put your information down and join! Its that easy! Once you joined you can find others to make a team! I have joined. What now?
Make sure you get League loaded on your home computer and that you have an account. Then get into a team using the Teamspeak forum. That team needs to pick a Captain/Coordinator. They should get the information of their team to Mr. Cachafeiro including the names of their members, the Username of their members (from League of Legends), their Team name and Team Logo. After that it's up to you guys to make time to practice together in preparation for competition. I don't have a computer. Can I join?
We do have a few computers for use at school. However, these will not be there for use all the time because students need them for school work. It will be difficult for you to practice regularly and make it to games from home if you do not have a computer that can run this game. Think carefully about the commitment you are making to the team if you do not. What type of time commitment is involved? Can I play another sport?
The time commitment is up to you, your team and your parents. You should not join the League if you are already booked with commitments. Your team will need you to practice and play so you can be a contributing member of the team. However, if you can manage you time wisely and juggle your school, home and other commitments well, you should be able to enjoy the League alongside your other interests and hobbies. |

What are some of the benefits of playing?
The League offers the same benefits as playing any other competitive sport including learning to work as a team, competitiveness, leadership and discipline as you have to practice to support your team properly. Additionally teams that compete at the National level have a chance to win scholarship money. There is at one one college that presently awards high ranking league players with scholarships. Benefits over traditional sports are less chances for injury, not losing class time because of long drive to game or getting home late, and having more time at home to do homework. The League organizes interested students into competitive teams. A teams has to have at least 6 members (1 sub). Then the team Captain/Coordinator is responsible for organizing practices for their team members, scrimmages against other teams, and work on their skills in preparation for the coming season. Once season officially begins, the Captain/Coordinator is additionally responsible for contacting the opposing team's Captain for their once a week official match, coordinating a time to play online, and making sure all their players can make it to that one official game. Other than that the League may host invitationals for other nearby schools, in-house tournaments, pizza parties and other social events. |
for sponsors
Why Sponsors?
Traditionally many types of teams have sponsors. eSports are no different. Some of the better known sponsors of League of Legends eTeams include Samsung, Dell and Twitch.tv. It is a growing trend to sponsor an eTeam as these teams are often watched on streaming media by large amounts of viewers. How to find a team to sponsor
Teams will be looking for Sponsors. If you go to the News section of the website and post your name and that you are looking to Sponsor a team, they will contact you using whatever contact information you leave on your post. From then on we will be putting all sponsors on the front page of this web site, with sponsors that contribute more featured first. |
What are the benefits of being a Sponsor?
Teams are announced by both their team name and Sponsor ( Team X, Sponsored by...). The name of the Sponsor is also on the shirts they wear. It brings publicity to the sponsor - in particular if they do well. The Sponsors also enjoy free admission and concessions at events we host. Lastly they help promote this great activity that gets many kids involved, keeping them doing something social, safe and competitive in a community of peers. |
What are the obligations of a sponsor?
Once a sponsor agrees with a Team Captain to sponsor their team the primary obligation is to get shirts for the team. These need to be in the color of the school (purple or teal), have the name of the player on the back and the team logo on the front, as well as the name and logo of the sponsor. Beyond that, any funds from sponsors go into a Booster fund for the League that we use to host mini-tournaments, invitationals and scrimmages. We may host a pizza party for the kids at the end of a season. If there are enough funds we would use them to purchase additional computers for the school so more kids could play here, on campus. |
